Today tiny Mercury's will transit the face of the sun. This is the
second time in two years this relatively rare event will occur. In
most of Canada and the United States the transit will be visible only
at a sunset (don't look directly at the sun). On parts of the west
coast it should be visible all day.
The safest way to watch the event is online. The Exploratorium in San
Francisco is holding a live webcast from the Kiit Peak Observatory
for about 10 minutes every hour on the hour from 11:00 a.m. - 4:10
p.m. PST
