Museum The Smithsonian
Museum in Washington, DC has more objects than it can display at any one time.
Some really interesting things, like Eli Whitney's original Cotton Gin, are kept
hidden away in the archives, sometimes for years at a time. Through the power
of the Web the museum is putting all these archived objects on e-display. The
navigation structure is really interesting, spend a few moments reading the instructions
page. Then dive in to find science advances for the home, or only objects from
after 1950. |

| PBS-TeacherSource
The US PBS system has an online resource called TeacherSource
that is quite comprehensive ... and free! Perhaps the best part is the lesson
plans with accompanying video of how they play out in real classrooms. You do
need Windows MediaPlayer or RealVideo in order to view, and the video files are
quite large to download, but it is an amazing resource - especially for first
time teachers. |
